48 new projects are added to Housing Development Plan in Ho Chi Minh City

The People’s Committee of HCMC has just decided to add 48 new projects to HCMC’s housing development plan in 2016-2020 period.

Adding 45 commercial housing projects: 1 commercial housing project at the central districts, 11 ones in the existing old districts, 23 ones in the new developing districts, 10 ones in the suburban districts; and 3 social housing projects in the new developing districts.

The projects’ details are listed here under

  1. The project of HH2 Saigon-Ba Son complex area for Apartment building-Office services-Commercial services in District 1 including 475 houses is planned to be finished in 2023.

  2. 99 Binh Don Wharf apartment in Ward 11, District 8 including 294 houses is planned to be completed in 2020.

  3. High-rise condominium combined Commercial Services (Dream Home Riverside) in Ward 7, District 8 including 2.200 houses is planned to be finished in 2022.

  4. Phuong Viet 2 apartment at 1079 Ta Quang Buu street, Ward 6, District 8 including 301 houses is planned to be completed in 2022.

  5. High-rise condominium with commercial services, kindergarten (NBB Garden III) in Ward 16, District 8 including 3.950 houses, is planned to be finished in 2024.

  6. Phuoc Binh residential area project, Ward 6, District 8 including 61 houses, is planned to be completed in 2024.

  7. Asahi Tower residential area investment project in Ward 16, District 8 including 1.292 houses and 40 low-rise, is planned to be finished in 2027.

  8. Commercial center housing area and Dong Nam supermarket at727 Au Co street, Tan Phu District including 1.245 houses and 92 attached houses is planned to be finished in 2022.

  9. High-rise commercial-financial service condominium Tower, 37 Tay Thanh, Tay Thanh Ward, Tan Phu District including 393 houses, is planned to be completed in 2022.

  10. Apartment and Exim Plaza commercial center at 96 Luy Ban Bich, Tan Thoi Hoa Ward, Tan Phu District including 697 houses, is planned to be finished in 2023.

  11. New apartment construction project at 47 Long Hung, Ward 7, Tan Binh District including 82 houses, is planned to be finished in 2022.

  12. New apartment construction project at 40/1 Tan Phuoc, Ward 7, Tan Binh District including 152 houses, is planned to be completed in 2022.

  13. Residential area No.4 in the 38,4ha - New City area in Binh Khanh Ward, District 2 including 1.330 houses, was finished in 2018.

  14. Residential area combined with trade, services and offices in Thao Dien Ward, District 2 including 352 houses and 18 low-rises is planned to be completed in 2021.

  15. Business housing area in Thanh My Loi Ward, District 2 including 118 low-rises, is planned to be finished in 2022.

  16. Villas and apartments combined with commercial services, offices and hotels in Thao Dien Ward, District 2 including 33 houses and 17 low-rises, is planned to be completed in 2022.

  17. Housing area in Binh Trung Tay Ward, District 2 including 1.270 houses, is planned to be finished 2022.

  18. Resettlement area including 4.200 apartments at 26 Mai Chi Tho, Binh Khanh Ward, District 2 including 4.200 houses, is planned to be completed in 2022.

  19. High-rise condominium in Cat Lai Ward, District 2 including 667 houses, is planned to be finished in 2023.

  20. Green Diamond independent housing area in An Phu Ward, District 2 including 968 houses and 9 low-rises, is planned to be finished in 2023.

  21. High-rise condominium and Trade-Service-Office at Lot H2-04 in Cat Lai residential area, Cat Lai Ward, District 2 including 300 houses, is planned to be completed in 2024.

  22. Parkland housing and commercial center complex area in An Phu Ward, District 2 including 352 houses.

  23. Commercial area of The Golden Star high-rise condominium in Binh Thuan Ward, 72 Nguyen Thi Thap, District 7 including 398 houses and 6 low-rises, is planned to be finished in 2019.

  24. Residential area Lot C13B Zone A, new urban area in the south of HCMC in Tan Phong Ward, District 7 including 196 houses, is planned to be completed in 2022.

  25. Apartment area in Binh Thuan Ward, District 7 including 1.200 houses, is planned to be finished in 2023.

  26. Residential area complex at Lot CN8-2 Zone A, new urban in the south of HCMC in Tan Phong Ward, District 7 including 9 houses, is planned to be completed in 2023.

  27. Residential area Lot CN 6-3 Zone A, new urban in the south of HCMC in Tan Phong Ward, District 7 including 190 houses, is planned to be finished in 2024.

  28. Thu Thiem low-rise housing area at Dong Tang Long new urban area, Truong Thanh Ward, District 9 including 306 low-rises, is planned to be completed in 2021.

  29. Housing area in Phu Huu Ward, District 9 including 500 houses and 43 low-rises, is planned to be finished in 2025.

  30. Housing area of Thanh Phuc Company in Phu Huu Ward, District 9 including 153 low-rises, is planned to be completed in 2021.

  31. Housing area in Phuoc Long B Ward, at 1471 Do Xuan Hop Street, Phuoc Long B Ward, District 9 including 1.000 houses and 24 low-rises, is planned to be finished in 2021.

  32. Housing area in An Phu Dong Ward, District 12 including 30 low-rises, is planned to be finished in 2020.

  33. High-rise condominium in Thanh Loc Ward, District 12 including 216 houses, is planned to be completed in 2025.

  34. Residential apartment area in Binh Tri Dong A Ward, Binh Tan District with the area of 45.860 m2, is planned to be finished in 2021.

  35. Phuong Dong residential area project in Tam Phu Ward, Thu Duc District including 242 houses, is planned to be completed in 2021.

  36. Resettlement apartment combined office at Lot S of supermarkets, hostels, parking lots area of Functional area No.9 - new urban area in the south of HCMC, Binh Hung Commune, Binh Chanh District including 84 houses, is planned to be finished in 2020.

  37. Housing area in Binh Hung Commune, Binh Chanh District including 900 houses and 420 low-rise, is planned to be completed in 2022.

  38. Binh Loi residential area in Binh Loi Commune, Binh Chanh District including 249 low-rise, is planned to be finished in 2022.

  39. An Ha residential area at Pham Van Hai Commune, Binh Chanh District including 244 low-rises, is planned to be completed in 2022.

  40. Commercial service center, and housing area in Tan Truc town, Binh Chanh District including 2.000 houses was finished in 2014.

  41. Hoang Long residential area, Xuan Thoi Thuong Commune, Hoc Mon District including 52 low-rises, is planned to be completed in 2021.

  42. Sadeco Phuoc Kien residential area in Nha Be district including 320 low-rises, is planned to be finished in 2022.

  43. Nha Be housing area on Nguyen Huu Tho street, Phuoc Kien commune, Nha Be District ( at subdivision 14) including 89 low-rises, is planned to be completed in 2022.

  44. Hiep Phuoc I residential area in Nha Be District including 1.344 houses and 689 low-rises, is planned to be finished in 2023.

  45. Infrastructure construction investment project for resettlement area for Saigon Safari Park project (Phase 1) including 275 low-rises, is planned to be completed in 2021.

In sum, with those 2nd additional projects, HCMC has more 45 commercial housing projects with the land area of 207.27 ha, floor area of 3,686,202 m2, 28,690 high-rise apartment units and 3,445 low-rise houses.


Ken Atkinson: the stronger segments are likely to be residential apartments


Previously, the People’s Committee of HCMC decided to update and add housing projects to HCMC Housing Development Plan in the 1st phase of 2016-2020 with 126 commercial housing projects of which there are 3 projects central districts, 17 projects in old districts, 60 projects in new developing districts and 46 projects in suburban districts. Besides, 4 social housing projects were also updated and added in the 1st phase, including 2 projects in District 7, 1 project in District 9 and 1 project in District 12.

Adding and updating the list of projects into the housing development plan in the phase of 2016-2020 is the 1st step to carry out procedures for approving investment policy, recognizing investors and approving investment projects in the city according to the current law. This also ensures the housing development to be transparent, sustainable, and not to make the technical infrastructure system and social infrastructure of the city overloaded.
